Angel's wings wedding cake
We made this totally unique wedding cake a couple of weeks ago and not only was the look of the cake unique but the sponge inside the cake was too.
The huge 16 inch sponge at the bottom of the cake was an angel cake consisting of 3 layers of sponge, one yellow, one pink and one white. This layer is covered with white ruffles.
The 14 inch tier is another angel sponge and decorated with royal icing piping work and flower blossoms.
The 12 inch tall hour glass is decorated with delicate lace work and piped beads and has 2 big aangel wings on the back. These were made entirely from icing and covered with hundreds of icing feathers and lace work on the under side.
The 4th tier is decorated with lace flowers and icing details.
On the top of the cake is a large ruffle ball with a halo of fairy lights on top.
Unique and stunning, the photo just doesn't capture how amazing this cake looked.
