Corporate cakes
A new Aldi store opened in Walkden yesterday and I was asked to make the opening celebration cake for the event.
An Aldi shopping bag full to the brim with all the lovely foods we like to eat and all made from sugar. I had to think about the broccoli for quite a long time before I worked out how to make this look realistic and I have to say I was really pleased with the results. The tomatoes were a triumph, totally indistinguishable from a real tomato and as to the oranges, I just wanted to pick one up and peel it.
The cake looked great, I really enjoy a creative challenge.
My next challenging cake is a scorpion cake, the question is how to make it's tail arch over it's body. My next post will be about the scorpion.
